For many traveling or a vacation is just the thing they need to calm down and take a deep breathe. Even for many with a wandering soul, each destination gives a soothing essence till they feel the itch to travel again.
Have you ever taken long vacations?
There was survey I read (sorry, I read a lot and don’t keep a track of the names) which said that travel is superficial way of relaxing. Because life is a cycle where the high of travel wears down when it becomes part of a routine.
In other words, constantly traveling will take away the joy of travel. May be it is true, may be not. But one thing that is definitely true is, taking off any chance you feel tied up or jittery is the best way to relax.
When we’re cooped up at home, even on our days off we keep working. Completing tasks from our to-do list. We may cool off watching a movie, going to the spa or meet friends. But in essence, how much of that stress are we really leaving behind?
When you travel, you have no other choice but to let go of other thoughts because a) you’re miles away aren’t in a position to do anything and b) you need to concentrate on the trip. You can travel/ride in your hometowns and cities by rote. But not a new destination.
So that’s a good diversion to let your hair down and finally relax.
Best way to relax: Find your Element
Every person has an element they love. Do you remember the question most travel bloggers post—beaches, mountains or deserts? That is because your inner element varies for each person.
For me it is water. Whether a gushing waterfall or calm river or the raging waves of an ocean, I love them all! That is why you’ll find many posts on beaches, and waterside retreats in my Instagram.
Find something that is in your element and try to build your travel around it. No matter what you’ll find yourself relaxing.
No matter if it is a small stay or a big one, you’ll end up recharging yourself. The whole point of travel isn’t to leave your worries behind and shut down. It is to give yourself enough energy to get back and face the odds.
