#28daysoftravellove Day 5: Chasing Sunsets

There’s something about sunsets that everyone loves. The feeling of ending the day with a myriad of colors lighting up the sky. I’m not much of a morning person, so sunsets are always welcome.

As a city girl, it is not often that I can enjoy the sunset in all its goodness because of the tall buildings. Though I do try to watch the sky lit with oranges, pinks and reds.

But it is the play of colors at different locations that gets me. The beaches seem calm and welcoming and the mountains bid adieu to the day in a different way. Hearing the birds chirping as they fly to their nests and the day just fading out with the sun.

In some destinations, the colors vary with bright purples and pink and sometimes the occasional buoyant blue streaks across the sky. You need to chase enough sunsets to notice the little nuisances that make all the difference.

The feeling of sunsets

The day seems a touch warmer not by the heat but by the way my heart feels light; as though it is soaring in those majestic clouds that highlight the beautiful sky.

The air feels like it shimmers and glitters and you can’t help but take a deep breath. Another day you’ve survived that made you wiser. And in all that chaos one thing that is constant is the sun touching the horizon and bidding goodbye!

My experience

Once we sat in the Chapora fort simply waiting for the sun to make its way down. We were up on a hill with a peninsula jutting into the ocean and the view made it impossible to take your eyes off it. The wind blew our hair and our eyes seemed stuck on the mesmerizing sight.

While the sun took its own time to set, once it hit the horizon, it felt as though it was running against the clock. One blink and it was over. As we sat there for a long time letting the final rays warm up our soul, I couldn’t help but wonder why not chase sunsets for the rest of my life.
