Why I Started Travel Blogging

I started blogging three years back and something was always amiss. My lack of consistency was bugging me a lot. That’s when I finally decided to heed to the ‘niche talk’ with a friend. After hours of brainstorming we decided, ‘female travel blog in India’ perfectly described my passion.

What inspires me to travel

The honest answer is that I feel free when I travel. Just imagine the expression on a kid’s face when he/she sees so many new things; that’s the exact feeling I have when I explore. Travel isn’t just about vacations for me, it is the adrenaline rush of experiencing something new.

To simply put it: People get homesickness but I long for travel.

What I aspire to be

I always wanted to work for Condé Nast Traveler. I put in a lot of effort to plan trips, develop a blog and move to content marketing. But unfortunately, all this made me get tied up at a 9-6 job. Finally, I knew it was time to tell others, as well, what it was to become a female travel blogger in India. So, The Wander Mantra turned out to be a journal to document what it’s like for a working woman to have the digital nomad dream.

Few years down the line, I definitely want to become a digital nomad like the others. But I’ve made peace with the fact that patience is key.

Female Travel Blogs in India

The travel blogging segment is a crowded one. (I did my research before diving into it.) But only a few blogs offered something new and unique while others painted a picture-perfect journey. Travel blogging isn’t just about pretty pictures and every destination comes with its own trials.

Is The Wander Mantra different?

Yes, maybe, I don’t know? The Wander Mantra is still a baby project of mine and I don’t want to make promises. This blog will bring out the real picture of travelling and pay homage to the culture, diversity and people of every town and not just its beautiful landscapes and architecture.

I will not be a tourist but a traveller who wants to make every place a home.
