Travel in 2020: The Year So Far

Every year we make resolutions, but this year—I could feel it in my bones—was going to be different. I had renewed passion to finally save up enough to travel most of the year and move on to Step 5 in my vision board of quitting my job to travel full time.

I had it all planned out! My first solo trip, my first international trip, the heady excitement of getting a stamp on my passport. Yes, 2020 was finally the year when my dream to become a full-time travel blogger was gonna come true.

January 2020

I’m in fits of excitement. Yes, I’ve finally got a girl gang who loves to travel. We enjoyed every minute of our trip. Can’t wait for more! Having a travel crew of like-minded travelers is a blessing indeed. So, yay, we’re planning for our tour to Vietnam in March!

February 2020

I can’t wait till March to travel again! Let’s go to Hampi and make it a quick weekend extravaganza!

Woohoo! Hampi rocks. We love the architecture, the beautiful rock sculptures, and history surrounding us. We decided to take an impromptu detour to Badami, Aihole, and Patadakal. And, I can’t believe the fun we’re having. The year already looks good.

March 2020

We dropped our plans for Vietnam. 🙁 It sucks but Corona will pass and we can travel again. I’m going to see my old trip pictures and reminisce until I can travel again! We can salvage things. Maybe take a small trip to a nearby place.

April 2020

The situation is bleak. But I have hope! We can still travel once the lockdown is over. I can’t wait for the restrictions to be lifted so we can travel again. I guess a small resort staycation is definitely the way to go. Relax in the pool with some wine and food. Yep, I should call my girl posse and let them know!

May 2020

I think we should wait until it’s a bit safer. You know #flattenthecurve and all that. The year is still ripe. We can make plans at least for the year-end. Local travel sounds awesome. Next month, when the corona-positive numbers are less, I’ll make plans.

June 2020

I think I should take a walk in Lal Bagh (a famous botanical garden in Bangalore).  Activating the phone tree to my friends. “Hey guys, wanna go for a walk in Lal Bagh?”

News: Man walking in Lal Bagh tested positive for Corona.

I think I can take fresh air through the window. Anyway, the weather isn’t great for a walk.

July 2020

Should I? Maybe I should… Is it really safe? Hmmm, if I don’t go it will be a problem. Should I just order? No, what if someone touches it has corona. Let me risk it. I wear a mask. Put the sanitizer in my pocket. Get ready and go to the grocery store.

Now: I think next year will be my year. I can feel it in my bones.

Disclaimer: Okay guys, this is getting tedious. With people taking offense to humor all around me, I feel it’s mandatory to point out, this is just for fun. Please do not take it seriously!
